These are screen shots of the same page at different
resolutions. Note the increased white space on the right hand side at high
resolution. Notice the logo graphic in the upper left hand corner and the
photographer graphic also look smaller. I have clients that view their pages at
high resolution only and they say make everything bigger, fill up that white
space! If I were to do that it would force the user at 800 x 600 resolution to
have to scroll to the right to see the entire page and the graphics would look
huge. Pages are designed to look their best at 800 x 600 resolution because
this is the setting that the majority of users are viewing your page with.
Notice that the header on this page is designed to stretch to the full width of
the screen. |
