Finally I got the call that Munchie was ready to come home! She had her final heartworm shot to kill the baby heartworms and will have another blood test in 2 weeks. They want her to stay on crate rest until after the blood test.
On one of her visits I thought I would try to teach her to sit. I told her to sit and pushed on her butt, she just crumbled and fell on the floor. You could tell she had been abused before. I tried it again and the same thing happened, so I said forget that for now. The next time she came I told her to sit and she did, she even laid down when I told her. The rescue people told me how hard it was to put a leash on her when they took her out of the crate. She was just wild, they didn't teach her this. How did she learn so fast? Who is the stupid person who threw this dog away? She stays in the yard by herself when I am at work. She has not tried to dig out or go over the fence. When I get home she acts like I have been gone a week. I think she is just so excited that I actually came back. Hopefully she will calm down when she gets used to the routine and realizes she is not going to be abandoned again. |

Malamutes are working dogs and Munchie likes to work in the garden. She open and spread 6 bags of mulch for me. |
