Koda's Story

I was just a scrawny bag of bones at 53 lbs when the Galveston County Animal Shelter brought me in. I waited for my family to come and get me but nobody came. I guess I was too much trouble and they didn't want me anymore. It is a very small shelter with not much room Lucky for me they do have a few good people who are foster parents so I managed to escape euthanasia.

A kind lady with the Friends of Galveston County Shelter took me to her home, had me neutered and gave me my shots. They took me to the mall on weekends for adoptions and lots of people came to play with me. They all liked me but said I was too big to take home. My foster mom knew I would one day make someone a wonderful pet, if it wasn't for her faith in me I would be dead.

The shelter couldn't decide if I was a Husky or an Alaskan Malamute. Everyone that sees me at the park thinks I look like a wolf. Nobody knows for sure exactly what I am, and I am not telling. The one thing everybody does agree on is that I am a sweet boy. If you want to keep up with what is going on in my life you can read about my adventures over at blogspot.

Munchies mom was looking all over for a brother for Munch. She found a nice smaller Malamute named Niko that she thought would be perfect for Munch at the Galveston shelter. Munch went to meet Niko and the meeting went okay, but not great. Munch can be very selfish and picky about who she plays with. You know how girls are.

Turned out Niko had to be treated for heartworms and couldn't be adopted right away so he went to stay at the Malamute Rescue. Munch decided to come down and meet me. I am much bigger than the little Munchkin but it was love at first site. She had her paws all over me! Munchie's mom said "he is too big, why do you want such a big dog?" Munchie just smiled and her mom said she could take me home.

Prozyme Pet digestive aidI had a lot of stomach problems from living on the street eating garbage for so long. My new mom tried different brands of dog food but my poop was always pure mush. The vet checked me for worms, said I didn't have any but since they don't always show up decided to treat me for them anyway. He also gave me prescription canned food and an antibiotic. Things got better and mom soon discovered the reason was the canned food, not all the medicine.

Seems I had trouble digesting dry dog food. Mom tried all kinds of dog food, pepto bismal and even some Eagle Pack Holistic Solution that is supposed to help with stomach problems. The solution that worked was Prozyme. I am now a happy, healthy guy that is gaining weight. If you have a dog, cat or even horse that has stomach problems give Prozyme a try.
