If you have a shedding dog or cat you will love the Furminator. I have a large assortment of combs, brushes and even a shedding blade to use on my Malamutes, but the new Furminator is nothing short of fantastic. I also used it on my friends black lab and was amazed at the results even on a short haired dog.
The stainless steel edge easily removes loose hair & dander and reduces shedding up to 90%. It gets down into the coat in a way a shedding blade can't. In fact the Furminator is guaranteed to reduce shedding better than any other brush or comb. It is available in small, medium and large so you can get the right size for your pet.
Put the Furminator to the test. Use your regular brushes and combs on your dog then when you think you have most of the loose hair out, try the Furminator. You will be shocked at how much hair remains that your other brushes and combs won't remove. That is the hair you find on your furniture and carpet. That pile of hair above is from one Malamute that I thought I had pretty well brushed.
The Furminator does not cut hair, it gently pulls out the loose undercoat. The best part is that my dogs actually like to be brushed with it. If your dog has not been brushed in quite awhile you may need to use a regular comb first to get rid of the matts.

I took the Furminator to the dog park with me as I know several people there who own Huskies. Naturally talk of dog hair and shedding always comes up. I was a bit embarassed to tell people how much I had paid for my Furminator. It certainly isn't the cheapest brush I own. They thought I was a bit crazy so I brushed their dogs and then they were all asking me where to get the Furminator. When I went back to the dog park I found they had all bought the Furminator and love it. The Furminator is very well made, comfortable to your hand and the stainless steel blade is replaceable on the medium and large models. Unless you are a professional groomer chances are you will never need to replace the blade.
If you have a Husky, Malamute, German Shepard, Lab, St. Bernard, Cat or other shedder try the Furminator. Needless to say it is useless on Poodles and other non-shedding breeds. Everyone loves the Furminator but hates the price. The best prices I have found online are linked below.

Furminator De-shedding Solution I have not yet tried the shampoo so will not comment on it. Your dogs hair should be dry when it is Furminated though.
